YOUR PAGES STAY YOURS.
Your pages stay
on your device.
webTopdf turns webpages into PDFs on your device. It does not send page content, screenshots, or exported files to a webTopdf server.
The short version: no account, no capture upload, no analytics, and no advertising. You choose what to capture and where to save the resulting PDF.
What the extension handles
When you start a capture, webTopdf temporarily reads information from the active tab, such as its title, URL, dimensions, and rendered appearance. A full-page export may scroll that page while taking screenshots. Export options and any layout preparation are handled in your browser.
webTopdf combines those screenshots into a PDF locally and asks Chrome to download it. The PDF may contain the page’s title, URL, and visible content, including personal information shown on the page you chose. You control that file and any sharing you do afterward.
Permissions, with a purpose
The extension uses temporary access to your active tab when you interact with it. Scripting is used to inspect page dimensions, prepare the layout, and scroll during capture. Chrome’s download permission lets webTopdf save the generated PDF. Storage keeps your chosen settings on your device. An offscreen extension document assembles the PDF locally, without opening another visible window. The latest export status is held temporarily for progress and download recovery; it is not a browsing-history log. webTopdf does not request access to every website in the background.
What we collect
webTopdf has no analytics, tracking pixels, account system, or capture-upload endpoint. The extension does not keep a history of the pages you export. Saved preferences are limited to the settings needed for the product.
The companion website
This website serves the extension download and installation instructions. It does not accept webpage URLs or upload page content. It does not use third-party fonts, analytics scripts, or advertising cookies.
The website’s hosting provider receives ordinary technical request information when you load a page, such as your IP address and browser headers. Hosting logs are governed by the provider’s practices. External links to GitHub and Mulham Kassab’s portfolio are separate websites with their own policies.
Your choices
You can clear saved extension preferences by removing the extension. PDFs already downloaded remain on your device until you delete them. Installing and using webTopdf is optional, and you can remove it through Chrome’s extension settings at any time.
Changes and questions
This policy will be updated if the product’s data handling changes. The date above identifies the current version. For product questions or to report an issue, use the webTopdf issue tracker. Please avoid including sensitive page content in public issues.
